Nissan USA - 2004 Nissan Maxima Transmission Problem
Once again, the 2004 Nissan Maxima has a major transmission issue and something needs to be done. I don't understand how no one is doing anything about it.
I've contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs, my extended warranty company, NHTSA, etc. Michael Teyechea, Service Advisor at Schaier's Nissan of Long Beach, CA is unbelievable. He doesn't know a thing about the vehicles his technicians are working on. I don't recommend any Nissan vehicles to anyone.
Look into it, every one of their vehicles has a flaw. Nothing in life can be perfect but WOW Nissan is definitely at the bottom of the list now as far as quality goes, not to mention customer service.
Monetary Loss: $4200.

MY 2004 MAXIMA KICKS IN REVERSE LIKE BEING HIT BY ANOTHER CAR.
WHEN PUT IN DRIVE ; IT MOVES SLOWLY LIKE STARTING IN 3RD GEAR.
CAR HAS 66300 MILES.SHOULD HAVE HAD A RECALL NOW BEING TOWED TO DEALER.
VERY DISAPOINTED.
Contact the Nissan Manufacture, the more complaints the sooner we get a recall.... Get the word out about the messed up trannys! AND DONT BUY NISSIAN AGAIN IF THEY DONT STEP UP AND FIX THEIR PROBLEM THATS AFFECTED THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AND COSTS THEM EVEN MORE $
I really like my maxima but the tranny sucks it jerks like a horse in the rodeo. Nissan needs a recall ASAP :(
I would like to add my two cents worth.... I live in the Northeast and I have literraly seen THOUSANDS of vehicles of all makes and models that rust out after only 10-15 years.
My car should last at least 30-40 years and 1-2 million miles before anything at all breaks! COME ON PEOPLE THEY ARE JUST MACHINES!

Hundreds of Nissan owners are having this problem. Nissan knew of this problem back in 2004 (Technical Service Bulletin # NTB04-035 - issued March 10, 2004)and refuses do issue a recall.
